Important: Information regarding the status of Covid19 infections in the Niseko area (Kutchan town)

Thank you for your concern about the situation in the Niseko area. On this page, we will tell you about the following three points.

1st September 2021: the cluster in Kutchan Area was confirmed at a language school. Japanese only information is here.

29th March 2021: the cluster declared on 8th March 2021 is confirmed to have converged (finished)

16th March 2021: a cluster in Kutchan was confirmed at a language school. 15 students and 4 staff (total 19) were confirmed to have contracted Covid19. 4 in February and the remainder on 13th & 14th March 2021. As some are not residents of Kutchan or Shiribeshi their numbers are not included in the details below. Japanese only information is here.

15th March 2021: the cluster declared on Feb.21 & Mar.1 is confirmed to have converged (finished)

The infection situation in the Shiribeshi region, which includes the Niseko area, is as follows:

  • October 2nd: 1 people in Shiribeshi (0 people from Kutchan)
  • September 25th: 4 people in Shiribeshi (4 people from Kutchan) 
  • September 18th: 4 people in Shiribeshi(2 people from Kutchan)
  • September 11th: 7 people in Shiribeshi (2 people from Kutchan)
  • September 4th: 4 people in Shiribeshi
  • August 28th: 28 people in Shiribeshi (10 people from Kutchan)
  • August 21st: 23 people in Shiribeshi (4 people from Kutchan)
  • August 14th: 4 people in Shiribeshi
  • August 7th: 15 people in Shiribeshi
  • July 31st: 9 people in Shiribeshi

The infection situation in public businesses that have announced infections is as follows: currently, all businesses that announced infections are in the "Hirafu area" and "Kutchan Downtown area".

The list below lists the businesses that have been voluntarily announced infections with the safety of the Niseko area as their top priority. (Links may be in Japanese only)

In addition, please note some stores are voluntarily closed due to outbreaks in the area, even though they have reported no cases. Before using stores in the area, please check the opening information and congestion status.

2. About measures against infectious diseases in the Niseko area.

You can download a contract tracing app called COCOA, supported by the Japanese Ministry of Health at the following links:

In the Niseko area, we are working on the "New Hokkaido Style" promoted by Hokkaido.

In addition, each store is taking measures against infectious diseases by referring to the "Industry-Specific Guidelines"(Japanese Only) published by the Cabinet Secretariat's New Coronavirus Infectious Disease Control Promotion Office.

We will promote measures against infectious diseases in the area together with member businesses.

On the "Let's start a new travel style"(Japanese Only) page, we announce the infectious disease countermeasures that we would like our customers to cooperate with.
